to this day, no one can adequately explain to me why being “conceited” is considered a negative thing. one dictionary reference says “having an excessively favorable opinion of one’s abilities, appearance, etc.”
this is a bad thing? shouldn’t you be praised for liking yourself so much? why is self hatred tolerated so much more?
